Ceryx is the son of Hermes. When he was young, He was elected messenger of the Argonauts.
Poseidon, angry at the death of Pelias's son, (killed by the Argonauts), blinds Ceryx.
The mother Eleusina, begged Zeus pity that he decided to give him a gift: the horn on the forehead.
The horn allows him to see into the future, and enough even to replace lost sight.
